Did you find your friends and family to be supportive of your decision to breastfeed? Was there anyone you found to be not supportive? Did you seek support from an outside source, i.e. La Leche League, Post Partum Doula, Lactation Consultant?

I felt very supported in my decision to breastfeed. It was really difficult in the beginning but no one ever suggested that I give up and everyone around me (husband, extended family, friends) did everything they could to make it as easy as possible. I found support dwindling as we moved beyond the infant stage into extended breastfeeding. The only overtly non-supportive people I encountered were in my own extended family: "are you STILL breastfeeding? When are you going to wean that kid!?" :) I created an attachment parenting support group and surrounded myself with like-minded mamas and that helped a lot!
